10th Annual Myersville-Middletown Lions Tournament

The 10th annual Myersvill-Middletown Lions tournament will be held on June 12th 2013, at Hollow Creek Golf Club in Middletown Maryland. Games, contests and Raffle prizes will be available for purchase. Registration is from 11-12:45 with a start time after using a shotgun start "Scramble Format. Entry fee is $320 per foursome or $80 per single golfer includes dinner.

Memory Cafe

A relaxed luncheon is planned for people with memory disorders, caregivers, and friends on Thrusday, May 23 at Always Rons, located at 29 North Burhans Blvd. in Hagerstown at 12 noon. The cost is $2.50 per person.

Memory Cafe is a relaxed place where people with dementia and friends come together with others for lunch and informal discussion. Anyone impacted by Alzheimer's disese is welcome to join. The Memory Cafe will meet every other month for lunch.

The First Annual Roo Run 5K Run/Walk

The Spring Ridge Elementary School Parents and Teachers Association presents the First Annual Roo Run 5K Run/Walk. The race will take place on Saturday, June 1 at 8:30 a.m. Participants will follow a certified course through the Spring Ridge community, beginning and ending at Spring Ridge Elementary School. All proceeds will benefit the Spring Ridge Elementary School PTA.

Monica Robyns, PTA secretary and event director, comments "we are very excited about this event. It's a great opportunity to encourage family fittness and community involvement.A tremendous amount of time has been invested in the planning of this event, and we hope htat everyone has a lot of fun!"

In support of the 5K Run/Walk, there will also be a raffle of items donated by local businesses. Participants will also enjoy refreshments and music provided by the Spring Ridge Elementary School band.

The race is open to all ages and abilities. Event sponsorships are available to families and businesses for as little as $100. The sponsor and racer registration deadline is May 11. To sign up to participate or to learn more about sponsorship, visit www.roorun5k.com .
