The Turning Point

On Sunday, September 7th The Turning Point, Frederick's Community Acupuncture clinic is hosting an open house from 9:30am- 1:30pm to celebrate their new location! The open house will include the " Hearts Happen" photography exhibit by Kristin Mallery Hooks which were previously viewed on NPR and the Boston Globe. 4th Annual Relentless Golf Classic Benefiting Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Help Sponsor the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!

On Friday, September 12, 2014, the 4th Annual Relentless Golf Classic will be held at The Links at Challedon. This is a 4 person scramble of 18 holes of golf.  The cost is $80 per person or $320 per foursome.

There will be an open driving range before te-off. Donuts, bagles and coffee during registration (beginning at 7:30am). Hot dogs will be avialabe at the turn.

1st and 2nd place teams; 4 closest to the pins; and 2 longest drives, will be given prizes.

There will also be a raffle where you can enter to win great prizes as well as a 50/50 putting contest which the winner will erceive 50% of the putting contest entry fee.The Cost to enter the putting contest is $5.

TJ Marching Band Yard Sale

Come out on Saturday, September 13th to support the Thomas Johnson High School Marching Band as they host a yard sale.  

This yard sale will benefit the TJ Marching Band and take place at The Frederick Church of Christ on North Market Street.

The Frederick Symphony Orchestra in partnership with Catoctin Breeze Winery Third Concert

On Saturday, September 20th, the Frederick Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with Catoctin Breeze Winery, will hold the third and final concert of the Frederick Symphony Chamber Concert SEries with an outstanding performance by the Fredericktowne String Quartet. 

The Fredericktown String Quartet is a performing ensemble composed of Frederick-area residence who have been performing in the area since 1999.  The quartet is made up of Suzanne Buxbaum and Alyssa Boxhill on violin, Richard Kamakaris on viola and J. Thomas Mitchell on cello.  On September 20th, the Fredericktowne String Quartet will perform selections from Mozart, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Schubert. 


Located in picturesque Frederick County, Catoctin Breeze Winery is the ideal settin gfor a summer concert series.  Catoctin Breeze is an award-winning winery seated along the rolling hills of Eastern Appalachia's Catoctin Mountains.  With stunning views and gentle breezes, the winery is the perfect backdrop for an evening of music under the summer stars.

2014 Basketball Fundraiser Golf Tournament

Walkersville  basketball coaches Ryan Burkey and Mike Mathis invite you to participate in the Scramble Golf Tournament to benefit Walkersville High School boys and girls basketball programs!

This event takes place on Thursday September 25th with a shotgun start begining at 9:00 am.  

To participate in this event it is $85 per player or $340 per team.  

This includes 18 holes og golf with a golf cart, 2 mulligans per player, range balls, lunch as well as prizes.  

All proceeds will be used to upgrade the basketball team's training facilities and equipment.

Check in time the day of the tournament will begin at 8 am.

On Saturday, September 27th, St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church will host its 20th Annual German Dinner!! 


Come out and enjoy the "All- You-Can-Eat Buffet!" There will be good food including a bakesale.  There will also be live German music and a craft and gift table!!

Frederick County Parks and Recreation 5k and 1 Mile Run Walk

Join Frederick County Parks and Recreation for their 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run Walk taking place at Rose Hill Manor Park. 

 The 5k is a part trail/part paved run the Historic Rose HIll Manor Park. This run is presented by Docs in the Park. Event  T-shirts guaranteed to the first 200 people registered.

Frederick's Farmers Market Festival

Frederick City Parks and Recreation will be hosting Frederick's Farmers Market Festival on October 4, 2014 from noon to 6pm along Carroll Creek in downtown Frederick. 18th Annual Fall Harvest Festival at Summers Farm

This fall, bring the whole family to the Maryland Pumpkin Festival held this October 11-12 at Summers Farm in Frederick, Maryland. The weekend features our themed corn maze, pumpkin patch, hay rides, jumping pillows, homemade pumpkin and apple cider donuts, as well as live entertainment, pie eating contests, free face painting, and more! The Maryland Pumpkin Festival is part of the annual fall harvest festival at Summers Farm.

Family Fest 2014

Come join ICW at Family Fest 2014 where we are going to get turned up and all cranked for Jesus on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 7:30pm, at the JBK theater on Frederick Community College campus. Featuring Naitonal Recording Artist John Bucky Tillery, Walk By Faith Go- go Band, Body of Evidence Go- go band, Levictical Psalmists, The AJ Wilson group, Kingdom Worshippers, and some of the areas finest choirs, dance ministries, mime artists, ensembles, and etcs. We will also have a talent show to win DMV's Finest which will be judged by celebrity judges. First place will receive a cash prize. The talent show and concert are two seperate entrys and all proceeds go to Deacon Jerry Calhoun Scholarship Fund to benefit high school seniors with single parents. Not to mentiion it will include face painting, food and non- alcoholic beverages. Come out and participate in this fun- filled family event.
