Potomac Playmakers Auditions - "Rumors"

The Potomac Playmakers announce auditions for their next production, the classic Neil Simon comedy, “Rumors”! Charley Brock, the Deputy Mayor of New York and his wife Myra have invited 4 couples to their home in Sneden’s Landing, N.Y. to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. The first couple, Chris and Ken Gorman, arrive to find the hostess missing, no preparations made for the party and Charley unconscious with a gunshot wound to his ear lobe. Chris and Ken decide its best to hide the facts of the situation from the remaining couples until it can be determined what the facts of the situation are. As each couple arrives, the same futile attempt to conceal the facts from the most recently arrived couple is repeated. These attempts do not prevent the group from coming to their own conclusions based on rumors and wild speculation. Then the police arrive.

Produced with kind permission from Samuel French and directed by Greg Berezuk, “Rumors” is scheduled to run March 11-13, 2016, with possible additional dates TBA.  The show requires five male and five female performers, ranging in age from early 20’s-60’s.

Auditions for “Rumors” will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 and Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at The Women’s Club, located at 31 S. Prospect Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.  Auditions will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.

The Potomac Playmakers, founded in 1926, is one of the country’s longest active community theatre organizations, and “Rumors” continues a proud tradition of producing some of the finest in comedies.
