Annual Wolfsville Picnic

The Annual Wolfsville picnic will be held on Sunday, August 15th at 11 am.

Musical entertainment throughout the afternoon will be provided by Take Two Variety Vand and Ernie Bradley and the Grassy Ridge Band.  There will also be crafts, garden produce and homemade soups and baked goods will be offered for sale.

Equinox Dance Company Happy Hour Fundraiser

Join Equinox Dance Company for their Happy Hour Fundraiser at The Cellar Door Restaurant on Saturday August 15th from 3 pm until 7 pm.  New Artistic Director, Bria Jahrling, and the company members will be discussing plans and events for the 2015/2016 season.  If you are interested in auditioning or just want more information, they will be able to answer your questions.  

The Cellar Door will be donating a percentage of sales to the Equinox Dance Company Fundraising efforts so come support your local dancers!

Auditions for the Frederick Symphony Orchestra

The Frederick Symphony Orchestra will beholding auditions on Thursday,  August 27th at Frederick Community College. 

These auditions will be for the upcoming 2015-2016 season.  Rehearsals will be held weekly on Thursdya evenings preparing for five different concerts  throughout the season. Rehearsals will begin on Thursday September 3rd.

The Frederick Symphony Orchesra is a community orchestra for both professional and amateur musicians in Maryalnd.  

Instrument openings are for Principal Viola and Principal 2nd Violin.

Section positions oare Violin, Viola, Cello, Trumpet and Contrabass.

All positions are upaid, volunteer assign,ents with the exception of principal string players.

Each audition will consist of tw portions of selected works chosen by you (can be solos or orchestral axcerpts) and then a sight reading portion.  For principal positions, it is part-time an dpaid onthly and rehearsals start on September 3rd.

Main Street Middletown 5K Fun Run

Grab your running shoes and head down to Main Street for the Heart of Middletown 5K Fun Run 2015!

This is a certified course through downtown Middletown for family fun!  There will be live music, medals and awards.  Proceeds from this event will benefit Main Street Middletown and Middletown Branch Frederick County Libraries. 

Register now!  The first 200 runners will receive T-shirts!

Equinox Dance Company 2 Hour Free Class!

Anyone 18 years of age and older is invited to join Equinox Dance Company in a free 2-hour class on Sunday, August 30th from 10 am until 12 pm.  

This class will count as your audition if you are interested in being part of Equinox Dance Company.  For those auditioning, at least 3 years of dance training is preferred. 

This class will consist of contemporary technique work, learning and creating new movement and improvisation.

Trainfest Summer 2015

The Hagerstown Model Railroad Museum will host a Trainfest and Model Train Sale to promote the hobby and raise funds to continue hte restoration of the historic Antietam Station in Sharpsburg.

THe Hagerstown Model Railroad Museum is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1937 and is active in promotion the hobby to the general public.  This was formed as a charitable, educational, literary, historical, scientific and technological society and museum to promote the  importance o f railroading to Hagerstown and surrounding communities.

An Evening on the Riviera

An Evening on the Riviera is Frederick County's premier food and wine charity event and it is back this year! Voted as the best charity/social event by the readers of Frederick Magazine in 2014 and 2015, An Evening on the Riviera was established with the sole purpose of raising money for other charities. 

The 2015 and 2016 events will be in partnership with the Fort Detrick Alliance and will benefit the needs of local Veterans, active and former service men and women and their families. 

This is an elegant dinner with dancing beginning with an hors d'oeuvre and wine reception followed by a 4-course dinner.  

There will be live entertainment provided by Cloud 9 and Dancing under the starts.

There will also be a silent auction featuring art, jewelry, travel, sports, spa retreats and more! 

Tickets are $125.00 per person.  Food and wine are included with admission tickets.  Guest must be at least 21 years to attend this event!
