Paws & Planes Day to Land at Frederick Airport

Children of all ages are invited to a free educational event at the AOPA National Aviation Community Center at the Frederick Municipal Airport on February 21, 2015.


Children will get to meet Turbo, the star of the new children's book series, Turbo the Flying Dog and participage at several educationl stations that reflect the animal and aviation theme. Activities include: how airplanes fly, how hot air balloons fly, learning how pilots navigate, aviation weather and flight simulators! Other special guests included the United States Air Force, the College Park Aviation Museum and a local dog rescue. Upon arrival, each child will receive a punch car to have marked at each station they visit. Children who visit every station will receive a prize, no purchase necessary.

Frederick Keys "Job Fair

Looking for a fun seasonal job? The Frederick Keys annual job fair will take place on February 24-25 at Harry Grove Stadium. Interviews will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each night in the Mattress Warehouse Club, located on the suite level inside the stadium.

Keys staff will be on hand to conduct interviews for gameday positions with the team, while Ovations Food Services will also be on hand during the two-day job fair. Applications are available on the team website and should be filled out prior to the job fair. To print one out, scroll to the Harry Grove Stadium tab and click on “Job Opportunities.” Applications can also be picked up by stopping in the front office during regular business hours.

Living with Alzheimer's Series offered by Alzheimer's Association

Come participate in the Alzheimer Association three week education course in Frederick beginning March 2. The course, entitled "Living with Alzheimer's" for middle- stage caregivers is being offered at the offices of the Alzheimer's Association at 108 Byte Drive Suite 103, Frederick, MD. This free course will take place March 2, 9, and 16 from 4:30- 6pm. Know the 10 Signs

Come out and participate in the Know the 10 Signs on March 3 from 6:30- 7:30pm at 9020 Amelung St., Frederick, MD 21704. It gives you a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future. This interactive workshop features video clips of people with Alzheimer's disease. Bull & Oyster Roast

The American Legion Gold Star Post 191 on Prospect Rd. in Mt. Airy is offering an all-you-can-eat Bull & Oyster Roast from 5:30 to 7pm with Roast Beef, Steamed & Raw Oysters, Hand Patted Fried Oysters, Oyster Stew and other side items follwed by a Dance with country-rock band "The Boys and  Me" from 7 until 11pm.  Draft beer is included in the ticket price and a cash bar is also available.

2015 Frederick Keys National Anthem Auditions

Come out and audition to sing the National Anthem at a 2015 Frederick Keys game on Thursday, March 12 from 5pm- 8pm at the FSK Mall- Center Court. There will be special Celebrity Key 103 and 106.9 The Eagles Judges. All interested singers must pre- register by filling out the registration form on the Key website.
