From clowns and magicians, to Emmy-awarding winning musicians and puppeteers, the Summerfest Family Theatre has brought high-quality entertainment to Frederick youngsters for over sixteen years! 5:00PM 9:00PM Exhibit of Local Artists diagnosed with Autism The Autism Society of Frederick County, Ivy Mount School and the Monocacy Neurodevelopmental Center are sponsoring an exhibit of local artists who have autism through July 4th at the The Mary Pfister Gallery at 437 N. Market Street. The artists and sponsors will be there to greet the public. These children are able to express themselves through art than through language. Donations will be accepted for Autism Speaks and proceeds from any sales will go directly to the artists themselves. For more info, call 301-746-8080.
6:00PM 8:00PM Free Diabetes Prevention: Registration Deadline The next 12-week cycle of "Power to Prevent", a diabetes prevention program launched last fall by the Frederick County Health Department, is set to begin the second week in July. "Power to Prevent" is a free lifestyle program that helps adults who have and are at risk for type 2 diabetes to become more physically active and to eat healthier more often. Funding for this program is made possible by a grant received from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Registration is required by July 1st at 6pm (English/Spanish interpretation available)

Where: Frederick County Health Department, Auditorium (use entrance C)

The Power to Prevent program meets for 12 sessions. Each session is held once a week for 2 hours. In these sessions, participants engage in 30 minutes of physical activity, and learn general information about diabetes, making healthy food choices, and how to be more physically active.
