Claire, a waitress, is longing for something of importance in her life. After her job takes a turn for the worse, Claire finds herself in the midst of a car wreck and is transported to another planet where she is greeted by aliens who look as if they are members of the B-52s! It’s Beach Blanket Bingo, Oedipus and Alice in Wonderland, with an 80’s New Wave twist! Show dates are May 14-July 3rd on Fridays and Saturdays with select Thursday and Sunday Performances. 12:00PM 9:00PM Exhibit of Local Artists Diagnosed with Autism The Autism Society of Frederick County, Ivy Mount School and the Monocacy Neurodevelopmental Center are sponsoring an exhibit of local artists who have autism through July 4th at the The Mary Pfister Gallery at 437 N. Market Street. The artists and sponsors will be there to greet the public. These children are able to express themselves through art than through language. Donations will be accepted for Autism Speaks and proceeds from any sales will go directly to the artists themselves. For more info, call 301-746-8080.
5:00PM 9:00PM First Saturday / Great Frederick Float Begin your Independence Day early with The Great Frederick Float, Saturday, July 3rd from 5 - 8pm. There will be children's activities, music, dancing, and a boat parade and contest. Prizes to be awarded. Boats will "parade" along Carroll Creek, between Market and Carroll Streets, featuring boats from ndividuals, organizations, companies, or families in non-motorized boats. After visiting the Great Frederick Float, try your hand at old-fashioned game stations located througout downtown. Live music, guest artists and exhibit openings are throughout downtown Frederick. 5:00PM 9:00PM First Saturday Gallery Exhibit – Artist Tom Koza The Cultural Arts Center (located at 15 W. Patrick Street in downtown Frederick) will feature an exhibit will feature paintings and photographic art by Frederick artist Tom Kozar from July 1st through August 3rd. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 3rd from 5pm - 9pm, the same evening as the First Saturday event in downtown Frederick.
