Frederick’s Oktoberfest celebrates our county’s German heritage while bringing friends and neighbors together for a weekend filled with good food, beer, wine, music, dancing and fun.
Most importantly, proceeds from the celebration help support community causes and charities throughout Frederick County.

With indoor and outdoor entertainment, a Sports Tent and Kids Zone, you’ll find something happening throughout Oktoberfest.
Enjoy caricature artists and a photo booth in the Fest Hall, plus balloon twisting, storytelling, face painting and arts and crafts throughout Saturday.
College football games will be shown throughout the day and night Friday and Saturday.
What would Oktoberfest be without beer & German food?
There is plenty of variety to satisfy everyone’s tastes — and remember, you’re eating and drinking for charity.

Stein & Das Boot Information
Steins and boots included with ticket purchases will be provided empty.
Guests must be at least 21 years old to receive a stein at the gate.
Steins are only guaranteed when picked up by 8 PM on the night of the ticket.
Group Tickets & Celebrations
Group packages are available for birthdays, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners and other celebrations.
Packages can be customized and have included reserved seating, band shout-outs and more.

Wear an authentic Dirndl or Lederhosen to Frederick’s Oktoberfest and your admission is free.
Partial dress, German T-shirts and hats do not qualify for free admission.

Free Parking
Parking is free. Guests are encouraged to support Rotary Interact Club volunteers with a donation.
Rain or Shine
Oktoberfest includes indoor and outdoor festivities, with most activities taking place under tents.
Accessible Event
Frederick’s Oktoberfest is handicap accessible.
Friday & Saturday Admission
Friday is strictly 21+.
No children or infants are permitted Friday.
Saturday is open to all ages.
Kids Zone
Children of any age are welcome in the Kids Zone on Saturday.
The area includes arts and crafts, concerts and family activities.
The Kids Zone closes at 6 PM.
Pet Policy
The Frederick Fairgrounds has a strict No Pets policy.
Please leave pets at home.
Smoking
One designated smoking area will be available within the event.
Guests are asked to smoke only within that designated area.
Oktoberfest Green Efforts
Frederick’s Oktoberfest has been diverting close to 65% of its waste from landfills annually.
The goal is to continue moving toward a zero-waste event.
Please use the clearly marked waste stations throughout the festival.
Volksmarch
The Seneca Valley Sugarloafers Volksmarch Club will sponsor a walk Saturday, October 3.
The 5K and 10K routes travel toward the airport and through Historic Downtown Frederick, including Carroll Creek Linear Park.
Start between 10 AM and 1 PM.
Walkers must finish by 4 PM.
Walkers receive free admission to Oktoberfest.

Report to the Volunteer Check-In desk in Building 8 at least 15 minutes before your assigned shift.
Allow additional time for traffic, parking and check-in.
Thank you for sharing your time & talents.
Volunteers receive food and drink during their shift in the Volunteer Support Area.
Volunteers must wear their festival T-shirt and name badge while working. By law, volunteers may not drink alcohol while wearing their volunteer shirt and actively volunteering.
Groups are welcome. Organizers will do their best to keep group members together, and some positions are available for volunteers as young as 14.
