Christmas Train Display

Frederick County Society of Model Engineers and the Town of Thurmont is happy to announce that we will be holding our 3rd annual Christmas Train Display! The Town of Thurmont has graciously allowed us to use a space much bigger than the past two years, and we plan to fill it with as much trains and Christmas decoration as possible for your enjoyment, from a safe social distance of course!
This year, things will be a little bit different from our previous years. We will still have our traditional Christmas trees and trains running around, but we will also be adding a Sales Table where we will have some train items for sale, and we will have raffles as well.
The Town of Thurmont will have a Wood Christmas Ornament Decorating Craft for the kids. You can pick up your wooden ornament (in the shape of a train or gingerbread house) from the Town Office to take home to decorate Monday – Friday after November 23rd. We will have a Christmas Tree at our train display and Town Hall to be decorated with the children’s ornaments. We might even have a special visit from Santa for the kids!
The Christmas Train Display will be open to the public on Saturdays (10:00am – 4:00pm) and Wednesdays (5:00pm – 9:00pm) up to Christmas. Face Coverings are required upon entry and while waiting in line for entry for everyone two (2) years and older. Face Coverings must be worn at all times while at the show and must cover your nose and mouth. Social Distance Markers and traffic arrows will be in place throughout the building and must be followed for everyone’s safety.

Admission is always free! We do welcome donations to help keep our trains and shows like this running.

Saturday 5th – 10:00am – 4:00pm
Wednesday 9th – 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday 12th – 10:00am – 4:00pm
Wednesday 16th – 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday 19th – 10:00am – 4:00pm (Raffle drawing at 4:00pm)
Wednesday 23rd – 5:00pm – 9:00pm
We will be drawing our raffle winners on the close of our Saturday the 19th show. If you win, you will receive a phone call from one of our members and we will can hold your prize for you to pick-up at a later time.
