7th Annual Fast & Furriest 5K/1M

On March 18, Operation Paws for Homes welcomed 84 dogs into the rescue…EIGHTY-FOUR in one night! The dogs came from tremendously overcrowded shelters – many of the dogs were just hours from being euthanized. A number of these dogs needed medical attention and volunteers have been working to get them well enough to go to their forever homes.
Medical care is expensive and raising funds to cover the care is not always easy, but it can be fun. Join us for the 7th Annual Fast & Furriest 5K on April 24 at Heritage Farm Park in Walkersville, MD. Proceeds from the event go toward the more than $150,000 in medical expenses OPH incurs annually.
In addition to the race we have an onsite silent auction with some fantastic items! Gift cards for restaurants, hair salons, car care, dog supplies, household goodies and baskets donated by local businesses are waiting for you. After the race/walk, visit the food trucks to grab a coffee, grilled cheese or snowball! Does your dog need an ear cleaning, a quick wash/dry or nails clipped? HydroDog is waiting to serve! A variety of vendors will be on site with their products/services, too.
