FREE HOLIDAY EVENT: It’s A Wonderful Life at The Weinberg Center on Dec. 7th
The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs is excited to announce its 4th annual film event, It’s A Wonderful Life at The Weinberg Center for the Arts on Saturday, December 7, 2019 with two showings at 3:00 and 7:00pm. Tickets to both show times are free, however they must be reserved in advance to ensure seating. Prior to each show, guests will enjoy the festive sounds of the season performed by Frederick’s own a cappella group, the Catoctones.
Held annually, the event is a wonderful kick-off to the holiday season and coincides with Downtown Frederick’s First Saturday. The movie—a holiday classic—reflects a town similar to Frederick: tightknit, generous, and community-oriented. By screening this classic film every year, The Religious Coalition is able to share its mission of community benevolence and togetherness, as well as educate the public about year-round services provided by The Coalition.
Last year, both showings were sold out, with each seating approximately 1,000 people. In the film, George Bailey’s iconic and trustworthy bank, Bailey Brothers’ Building and Loan, keeps the town afloat and its citizens supported. Similarly, each year the film is generously hosted by local businesses, with all the proceeds going to support those most-need right here in Frederick County. Again, tickets are free, but attendees will have the opportunity to donate to The Coalition during the show. Woodsboro Bank is proud to be the community bank presenting sponsor for this heartwarming movie experience, along with the Delaplaine Foundation, Dr. & Mrs. P. Gregory Rausch, Dan and Lisa Schiffman, Valley Graphics and Col. James (ret.) and Sarah Olson.
