The Comedy Pigs AUDITIONS

The Comedy Pigs, Frederick area’s premier and longest-running short form improv troupe will be auditioning new members on Wednesday, March 25th in Maryland Ensemble Theatre’s Key Stage from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Founded and continually performing since 1993, The Comedy Pigs are easily one of the most established improv and sketch groups in the entire Mid-Atlantic region. The Comedy Pigs made their mark early as the troupe had been together just two years when in 1995 Comedy Central picked up their music video Wiener Dog- a parody of The Beatles song Blackbird. Since then, the Pigs have written hundreds of sketches and songs, played over 500 performances, and have had dozens of artists call themselves Pigs.
Prospective Pigs should dress in comfortable clothes and be prepared to move. The primary audition will consist of playing a series of short-form improv games with various members of the Pigs. Omniscience is not required as current pigs will teach auditionees the games. Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required.
We are looking for all voices to be represented as we expand our roster with fresh perspectives. All levels of experience are welcome! A background in improvisation, sketch comedy, comedy writing, musical abilities, and/or stand-up are a plus. Seeking performers 18+. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings (7:30-9:30pm) with performances held in conjunction with MET Comedy Night on the first Friday and Saturday of every month, September through June. This is a paid opportunity with performers receiving a cut of door profits.
